A 2009 report from the University of Santiago de Compostela reviewed studies examining the risk of cancer among hairdressers and related workers. We all know that the hot summer months can do quite a bit of damage to your hair. That’s why it’s imperative that you take special care of your extensions. It’s important to remember that extensions are no longer attached to the scalp, which is how your hair stays healthy. So the only way to receive the nutrients and moisture your extension hair needs is by replenishing them with nutritious moisturizing treatments and oils. Create a Wash Routine The best way to maintain your hair and restore it to its natural beauty is by washing with safe shampoos like Oway Moisture Bath  & Mask or Silk N Glow Bath & Mask. Make sure to take caution when washing the hair near its base. Aggressive washing will most likely lead to a looser install and can even result in slippage. July 4th is tomorrow and we just wanted to send some good summer hair vibes your way!  Here are a few tips for maintaining hair extensions while doing summer activities.  Before going in the pool or the ocean: - Soak your hair thoroughly with clean water. - Apply conditioner or leave-in conditioner to your hair. This will prevent the hair from soaking up as much chlorine or salt by giving it a barrier of protection. - Put your hair in a ponytail or loose braid. Sun Exposure: - Minimize sun exposure to the hair. - Use a leave-in conditioner with UV protection. - Avoid getting spray tanners and sunscreen in the hair, as it will discolor the hair and potentially turn high blonds into a pinkish tone. - BIG HATS!
